The article discusses the issue of land plots formation by redistribution as one of the ways to increase the area of a land plot. The stages of the procedure for redistribution of land plots, as well as the list of necessary documents, are analyzed. The problems that impede the redistribution of land plots are identified. The procedure for redistribution of land plots that are in state or municipal ownership, and land plots that are in private ownership, is considered on the example of a land plot in one of the municipal districts of the Leningrad Region. The reasons for the refusal to redistribute are analyzed, and the process of challenging the decision to refuse by the municipal authorities is described. The article analyzes the approach to the terminology of broken boundaries and the role of land management and cadastral specialists in the process of land redistribution. Key points are formulated.
