The earth is the most important object of the material world for humanity. The development of productive forces and production relations in any society requires the constant formation of land for the needs of industry, transport, energy, growing cities and other settlements, the implementation of environmental, recreational and other activities. The dynamic development of the construction industry has led to a sharp increase in the need for land plots for the construction of housing, administrative, industrial and other facilities, and in connection with this, there is a constant need to form land plots for newly created and expanding existing facilities. Currently, in Russia there is an intensive development of new territories for the construction of buildings, structures and structures, because of this, the category of industrial land occupies an increasing part of the territory and land of other categories. Therefore, the procedure for land acquisition for linear facilities is relevant today. The paper discloses the procedure for allotment of a land plot for the construction of a linear facility, taking into account regional characteristics. The article reveals the procedure for allotment of a land plot for a linear object on the example of a transport infrastructure object of regional significance. The formulated features of land allocation allow us to note the existing problems faced by contractors involved in the improvement and construction of roads. To improve the procedure for allocating a land plot for a linear facility, the following problems and ways to solve them have been identified.
