The article contains information about publishing activities of the Moscow society of agriculture (MOSH) from 1821 to 1917. This year marks the 200th anniversary of its history. It is shown that the analysis of the Society’s publications allows us to state that these publications are important sources for studying the history of agriculture thought in Russia, the establishment of many branches of agriculture, the beginning of a process of agricultural education, agricultural experiment. MOSH’s publications reflect the evolution of the formation of agricultural science. The successful activity of MOSH over its centenary history is associated with the publication of journals which were actually the only means of communication between landowners and other members of the Society.
